The Financial Futures Trading Association of Japan announced the Over-The-Counter (OTC) Forex (FX) monthly preliminary report on August 15. According to the report, the trading value by 49 OTC FX member traders in July was 1,194,327,800,000,000 yen (21.3 percent up compared to the previous month, 20.4 percent up year on year). The trading value of short positions at the end of July was 4,398,100,000,000 yen and the trading value of long positions at the end of the same month was 4,196,300,000,000 yen, totaling 8,594,500,000,000 yen (3.7 percent down, 1.1 percent down). Of it, USA/JPY was 1,030,232,200,000,000 yen (27.1 percent up, 42.7 percent up). Its short positions at the end of July was 2,294,200,000,000 yen and its long positions was 2,383,000,000,000 yen, totaling 4,677,200,000,000 yen (3.8 percent down, 1.1 percent up).
