TOCOM Building to be Demolished-A Hotel on The Site

The building of Tokyo Commodity Exchange, TOCOM (1-10-7, Nihonbashihoridomecho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), that was the largest commodity exchange once in Japan and is the subsidiary of Japan Exchange Group (JPX) now, was decided to be demolished. On the site, APA Hotel, a major budget hotel chains in Japan, will be constructed. The construction period is from July 3, 2023 to April 30, 2024.
Tokyo Grain Exchange (TGE) went into liquidation in February, 2013 and its four agricultural products were transferred to TOCOM and TOCOM’s name was changed from Tokyo Commodity Exchange for Industry to Tokyo Commodity Exchange. After that, in July 2020, TOCOM came under JPX and most employees came to do their business in the building of Tokyo Stock Exchange (2-1, Nihonbashikabutocho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), and as a result, the building of TOCOM has remained empty.
